The Will of God Is Your Wealthy Place

The only thing that makes a man’s life great is the plan of God!

Reader, your life was never meant to be built around a plan you formulate independently of God. Your life is meant to be built around His plan!

As Kenneth Copeland states, “The will of God is our wealthy place.”

Psalm 127:1 says:

“Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it…” (NKJV)

We can build something on our own, but if God isn’t the One building it, our labour is in vain. We aren’t to formulate our own plans and then ask God to bless them. We are to receive His direction and co-labour with Him.

We are not to form a plan. We are to hear a plan. God’s plan for our lives!

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17, NKJV)

As we hear and receive God’s Word, faith comes. We must learn to hear His direction and follow His leading concerning the assignment He has for our lives. When opposition comes, we need something to stand on. We must tell our circumstances what God has said!

Jesus said:

“…My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” (John 4:34, NKJV)

The Father’s will wasn’t something Jesus fitted into His life. It was the purpose of His life. He remained obedient despite opposition and fulfilled the assignment the Father had given Him.

Paul had that same determination. He declared:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7, NKJV)

Paul fulfilled God’s plan for his life, and we are still being blessed by his obedience nearly 2,000 years later.

Bound to the Plan of God

In Acts 20:22–24, Paul describes his conviction: he was going to Jerusalem, aware that bonds and afflictions awaited him, yet determined that none of these things would move him from finishing his course with joy.

Being Bound in the Spirit

Paul was inwardly convinced. He had settled something in his spirit. He was committed to God’s plan, and he wasn’t going to be moved from it.

To be bound in the spirit doesn’t mean to be in bondage. It means to be committed, consecrated and inwardly settled concerning what God has called you to do.

Job 22:21 in the AMPC says:

“Acquaint now yourself with Him [agree with God and show yourself to be conformed to His will] and be at peace…”

Agreement with God is more than acknowledging that what He says is right. It means bringing our lives into alignment with His Word. Notice the words: “Show yourself to be conformed to His will.” That means we must DO what He says!

Reader, what is God dealing with you about? What has He been showing you through His Word? We must be willing to agree with Him and obey.

The children of Israel complained their way through the wilderness, and that generation failed to enter the promised land because of unbelief (Hebrews 3:19). God’s commandments are not grievous. As 1 John 5:3 says, “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.” (NKJV)

Obedience may involve difficulty, but we must learn to delight in His will rather than continually resist His direction.

To trust God is to agree with Him and obey Him!

Never Override Your Spirit

We must learn to recognise the inward witness of the Holy Spirit and follow His leading. Don’t become so persuaded by the opinions or expectations of others that you ignore what God has been showing you through His Word and by His Spirit.

Divine Connections

God doesn’t expect us to fulfil His plan independently of the people He brings into our lives. He brings people who can teach us, strengthen us, correct us and help develop what He has entrusted to us.

Think about a vehicle. If its connections are loose, it won’t run properly. In the same way, we must value the spiritual relationships and leadership God has placed in our lives. God can use these people to lead us, teach us and help us fulfil our assignment.

Reader, be bound to the plan of God. Be committed to what He has called you to do, and value the people He has placed in your life to help you fulfil that assignment.

Your life is too valuable to spend pursuing something God never called you to do.

Don’t simply build a life. Build the life God has planned for you!
